This is the first issue in a new bi-metallic series featuring all nine historical provinces of Finland, namely Åland, Tavastia, Karelia, Lapland, Ostrobothnia, Satakunta, Savo, Uusimaa and Finland Proper.

On the obverse there is a part of the stylized Rusko scoop, a traditional drinking vessel. The reverse features the historical province´s coat of arms and the face value, 5 EURO.
