This issue marks the 250th anniversary of the adoption of one of the United States’ most influential documents, the Declaration of Independence.
The reverse design features a quill that has been incused to provide a debossed effect symbolising the oppression felt under British rule. Similarly, the eagle on the reverse has been embossed in bold relief to illustrate the freedoms that followed the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
The obverse of the coin features the official coinage portrait of His Majesty King Charles III.
Accompanied by bespoke packaging that explores the origins and significance of the Declaration of Independence, as well as background into the design created for the coin.
