This set contains the eight standard issue euro coins with the sammarinese national side, and an exclusive silver 5 euro coin highlighting the importance of bees.

The illustrated cover and the 5 euro silver BU coin are both dedicated to bees. The countless species of wild bees and the honeybee (Apis mellifera) play an essential ecological role as pollinators in terrestrial ecosystems. The reproduction of a vast number of plants depends on the invaluable work of these industrious insects, which thus contribute to the stability of ecosystems and the conservation of biodiversity.

The 5 euro sterling silver coin was designed by Chiara Principe and struck by the Italian Mint. The coin has a diameter of 32 mm, a total weight of 18 grams, and a fine silver weight of 0.535 oz.

The coin designs represent famous works of art and monuments of the Republic such as the portrait of St. Marino, detail of a painting by G.B. Urbinelli (€2), the Second Tower (€1), the portrait of St. Marino, detail of a painting by E. Retrosi (50c), the three Towers (20c), the façade of the Church and of the Convent of St. Francis (10c), the Church of the Capuchin friars (5c), the City Gate (2c) and the official coat of arms of the Republic (1c).
