This coin pays tribute to the centenary of the Portuguese chapter of Rotary International.
Rotary International is a global volunteer organization founded in 1905 that brings together more than 1.2 million members across approximately 200 countries, promoting altruism, ethics, and peace. It has been active in Portugal since 1926, with dozens of clubs within Rotary District 1960.
The obverse features a gear wheel, which symbolizes collaborative effort.
The reverse is the standard 2 euro design featuring a map of Europe and the denomination. |
