This coin is dedicated to the beloved character Sipsik from children’s storybooks (Raggie in English), who has been a favourite among generations of Estonian readers and has inspired a love of books in tens of thousands of children.

Sipsik has traveled in his 65 years from the pages of a children’s magazine to books and films, and now onto a coin. The drawings of co-creator Edgar Valter helped designer Ivar Sakk create the image of Sipsik to go on the obverse.

The reverse is the standard 2 euro design featuring a map of Europe and the denomination.
