This is thee first release in the new series coin sets focusing on Belgian folklore. It is dedicated to the theme of ‘Ommegang/Processions’ and will be followed in subsequent years by: Carnival (2027), Belgian Folklore Festivals (2028) and Ros Beiaard (2029)..

The set contains all 8 regular euro coins dated 2026 from Belgium in BU-quality.

The set also contains two official Belgian 2.5 euro coins from 2025, "Belgian draft horse" and "2026 World Hockey Championship".

A procession is a solemn religious parade, whilst an ‘ommegang’ is a festive and historical parade. This set centres on two anniversaries: the 250th anniversary of the Confrérie of Our Lady of the Pottery and the 750th anniversary of the Our Lady of the Pottery care home. These special institutions preserve the Bruges Promise, Bruges’ oldest living heritage. But this tradition of festive processions is also upheld in other Belgian cities, such as Brussels with the Ommegang and Mons with the Ducasse.
