The third release in the "In the Stars"-series combines the zodiac sign Leo and the gemstone rock crystal to help you inspires both vigour and clearness of mind.
Running from 23 July to 23 August and ruled by the Sun, Leo is a fire sign associated with passion and courage. It is for this reason that in physical astrology the sign is connected with the heart and spine. In the modern psychological interpretation of the zodiac, those born under Leo are characterised as being gregarious, confident, proud and fond of being the centre of attention. While these (leonine) qualities can sometimes lead them to dominate those around them, they can just as well encourage extreme generosity and friendliness. In other words, Leos have a big heart.
With its transparent and icy appearance, rock crystal is the most emblematic member of the quartz family. Found in the Alps in large quantities, the purity of rock crystal led it to become representative of the divine and the purity of the soul in Europe during the Baroque period. Rock crystal has also been used in spiritual practices, where it is believed to have both healing and protective properties, not least as it is thought to bring about calm, clarity and even enlightenment.
At the centre of the coin’s reverse a lion imperiously stares straight ahead, its magnificent mane flowing outwards on all sides and merging with the portrait’s border, which is formed of stars.
The obverse features a ring naming all 12 signs of the zodiac and their symbols. The symbol for Leo adorns the centre in large letters. At the edge of the circle shines yellow amber, which exudes a sense of calm and has a smooth, round shape. The mighty head of a lion, framed by a circle that dissolves into stars towards the edge of the coin, dominates the coin’s reverse.
Comes in a case complete with a numbered certificate of authenticity and protective slipcase.
