This issue celebrates the incredible legacy of John Lennon’s impactful career, from his days with the Beatles to his solo work and collaboration with wife, Yoko Ono.

Founder of the biggest act in music history and an incredible performer in his own right, John Lennon is a true music icon. Lennon won an accolade of awards including seven Grammys, and has also been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Songwriters Hall of Fame and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

John Winston Lennon (1940–1980) was an English singer, songwriter, musician, and activist, born in Liverpool, who co-founded the Beatles, arguably pop music's most successful band. His songwriting partnership with Paul McCartney is considered the most successful in history. Lennon's music with the Beatles and as a solo artist made a lasting impact on the world. He was also a political activist and a symbol of peace and hope.

Lennon was tragically shot and killed by Mark David Chapman on December 8, 1980, outside his Dakota apartment building in New York City.
