The Amerigo Vespucci, a historic Italian Navy training ship, will be concluding its world tour in 2025. After a 20-month voyage, it will return to its home port in Genoa, Italy, on June 10, 2025. The ship's itinerary includes a Mediterranean tour following its return, with stops in major Italian ports and a final stop in Durres, Albania, before returning to Genoa.
On January 9, 2025, Archbishop Santo Marcianò of the Military Ordinariate of Italy designated the ship as a 2025 Jubilee church and site “for sacred pilgrimages and for pious visits among its missions at sea.”
The obverse is a stylized image of the Amerigo Vespucci with full sails.
The reverse is the standard pan-European reverse of the €2 coin. |
