The annual Finland-Sweden Athletics Competition is a historic, team-based track and field competition between Finland and Sweden.
First held in 1925, it is the last surviving dual-nation athletic meet. Known to the Finns as the "Ruotsi-ottelu" and to the Swedes as "Finnkampen," the event is characterized by passionate fans, focus on team points over individual records, and alternating host nations, creating a significant, long-standing rivalry.
The obverse shows the element of competition, with two legs seen in movement. In the background, lines are moving in two directions. These lines can be interpreted as the two competing countries, Finland and Sweden.
The reverse shows the universal design of a 2 euro coin: a map of Europe.
