All eight coins were minted exclusively for this set and will not enter circulation in 2025.

The annual sets from 2025 to 2028 are all about Finnish nature phenomenon’s. This inaugural release features the northern lights and the next three years will see the Lakes of Finland, National Parks of Finland and Islands of Finland.

The first and probably most well-known nature phenomenon in Finland is the northern lights. The northern lights, also known as Aurora Borealis, is a fascinating lightshow that is formed by particles of the sun colliding with Earth’s upper atmosphere. Annually, people from all over the world come to Finland to get a glimpse of this phenomenon. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee for seeing the northern lights: it doesn’t always show. The most changes of success are in the darker winter months and in the north of the country.
