Croatia adopted the Euro as legal tender as of January 1, 2023, thus becoming the 20th member of the euro zone.
Halubje refers to a traditional Croatian bell ringing custom, particularly in the Viškovo region. The Halubje bell ringers, known as Halubajski zvončari, are a group of men who wear striking masks and sheepskins, and carry large bells. They participate in parades and festivals, traditionally to ward off winter and bring fertility.
The custom is recognized as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO and is preserved through the Halubje Bell Ringers Association.
