The Souvenir uncirculated coin set contains the only coin denomination that has been minted for 2024, namely the 20-krone.
The 2024 20-krone celebrates the 750th anniversary of Magnus the Lawmender's National Code of Laws.
Magnus VI (1238-1280) - also called the Lawmender - was
king of Norway from 1263 to 1280. He reformed Norway’s
legal system by consolidating the laws of the old regional
legislative assemblies into a national code of laws in 1274.
The reverse of the 20-krone is named “Seal” and was
designed by artist Michael Guilfoyle. It features a
modern rendition of Magnus the Lawmender’s
equestrian seal (1278).
Also included is the official mint medal honoring the 400th anniversary of the town of Kongeberg - the home of the Mint of Norway.
The coin is dated 2024 and is minted to BU quality, as is the base metal mint medal.
