This release in the new, annual German Federal States II series features Königsstuhl in Mecklenburg–Western Pomerania.

The design shows the iconic “Königsstuhl” (King’s Chair) in the Jasmund National Park and its typical chalk cliffs surrounded by beech forest.

The German Federal States II series consists of a total of 16 different €2 coins, each one showing a unique building or architectural or natural element specific to the respective state. The series began in 2023 and a new coin will be minted each year, in order of the rotating presidency of the Bundesrat (the upper house of the German parliament).
