This coin set includes the eight uncirculated Finnish coins minted in 2024. It also contains the 2 euro commemorative coin highlighting Elections as a Foundation of Democracy.
The Elections as a Foundation of Democracy coin set draws attention to the importance of free elections. The topic is quite timely, because 2024 is truly a bumper year for elections. In addition to Finland’s presidential election, the elections for the European Parliament are also on the agenda. Globally speaking, elections are taking place in 40 countries, including the great powers.
The obverse of the commemorative 2 euro coin features stylised ballots that symbolize democracy, designed by Hannu Jasoni Veijalainen.
