This issue honors the 500th anniversary of the death of the Italian painter Pietro Perugino.

Pietro Perugino (c. 1446/1452 – 1523), born Pietro Vannucci, was an Italian Renaissance painter of the Umbrian school who developed some of the qualities that found classic expression in the High Renaissance. Raphael was his most famous student.

Perugino mainly worked in Florence and Rome, including on the frescoes in the Sistine Chapel.
