In 2023 the World Youth Day (WYD) will take place in Lisbon, is a meeting between the Pope and young people from all over the world. It is both a pilgrimage and a celebration of youth, aimed at promoting the universal principles of peace, unity and brotherhood among peoples and nations.

The coin’s outer ring bears the 12 stars of the European flag.
