The Classic proof coin set contains the only coin denomination that has been minted for 2023, namely the 20-krone.

The 2023 20-krone celebrates the 250th anniversary of the founding of the Norwegian Mapping Authority.

The establishment of the Norwegian Mapping Authority was a significant national event at a time when Norway was not yet an independent state. The maps helped to define the nation, they supported the defence of the territory and the establishment of critical infrastructure, and they helped put the land, coast and sea to use in new and safer ways.

Also included is the official mint medal honoring the 50th birthday of Crown Prince Haakon, which is clad in 99.9% fine gold.

The coin is dated 2023 and is minted to the highest PROOF quality, as is the base metal mint medal.
