This is the 12th issue in the ongoin series celebrating the fables collected by the Brothers Grimm, and features the story Hans in Luck or Lucky Hans.

The fairy tale Hans im Glück (Hans in Luck), published by the Grimm brothers in the early nineteenth century, provides a telling example of a quest for happiness unconcerned with moral prescriptions and social conventions, in which the hero focuses on his own feelings.

Hans in Luck has been described as an ironic fairy tale which inverts the normal "rags to riches" story format. Instead, it can be interpreted as anti-materialistic as Hans trades in his newly won treasures and expresses relief to be freed from the weight to return home happily. It can also be set apart from many other folk and fairy tales as it avoids romantic themes such as damsels and princesses; instead focusing upon maternal love as Hans is returning home to see his mother.

The reverse has the German eagle, the words “BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND”, the value and denomination, the letter “F” for the Stuttgart Mint, the year 2023, and the twelve stars of Europe.
