This is the 13th issue in the annual series dedicated to Spanish sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and features Garajonay National Park.
Garajonay National Park is located at the centre of La Gomera island, one of seven islands that make up the Spanish Canary Islands off the coast of Africa. The forest hosts a great diversity of plant species, which are often surrounded by a sea of fog that gives the forest a magical aspect.
In 2010 the Spanish Royal Mint started a series of 2 euro commemorative coins dedicated to the Spanish sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List. |
