This release honors the 100th anniversary of the birth of controversial Nobel Prize-winning author, José Saramago.
José de Sousa Saramago (1922–2010), was a Portuguese writer and recipient of the 1998 Nobel Prize in Literature. Saramago only became a full-time author in his fifties. Before that he worked as a car mechanic and a journalist, among other things. Today, more than two million copies of Saramago's books have been sold in Portugal alone and his work has been translated into 25 languages. |
