This is the fifth issue in the series "Italy's food and wine culture" and is dedicated to the Puglia region.

The colorful reverse design shows a selection of typical elements from the food and wine culture of Puglia. Featured on the reverse is a composition of typical food and wine products of the Puglia region: bread from Altamura, “orecchiette” pasta, an olive branch and a glass of Primitivo wine. Also seen are decorative elements inspired by fretwork motifs in Apulian Romanesque style drawn from the chair of Sant’Elia housed in the Basilica of San Nicola, Bari.

The obverse features the Trulli of Alberobello and a characteristic Apulian dry stone wall, both recognised as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO, bordered on the right by an olive tree, a symbol of the region of Puglia, and on the left by the Pumo of Grottaglie, one of the most representative local craft products, and, below, by stylized waves with a dolphin, a recurring symbol on Taranto staters, ancient Apulian coins.
