This is the second issue in a series of Christmas coins, and features the Moravian Star, a symbol of the birth of Jesus and representing the star of Bethlehem.

The proof coin capsule has an eyelet so that the coin can be used as an ornament and be hung on the Christmas tree.

The obverse shows the multi-pointed glowing “Herrnhut Star,” symbolizing the Star of Bethlehem, which is a Christmas tradition that originated in the Moravian Church and has since become well known throughout Germany and beyond. Interestingly, the obverse is slightly curved and does not have an edge.

The reverse has the German eagle, the words “BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND”, the value and denomination, the letter “A” for the Berlin Mint, the year 2022, and the twelve stars of Europe.
