This is the 11th issue in the ongoin series celebrating the fables collected by the Brothers Grimm, and features Rumpelstiltskin.

This is the story of a miller who gets his daughter in hot water by falsely telling the King she can spin straw into gold. The king locks her in a room and forces her to prove her abilities or die.

The obverse shows the imp Rumplestiltskin holding a spool of gold thread in his left hand and a thread of gold in his right. A baby’s bassinet is seen to the right and is connected with the gold thread to the spinning wheel.

The reverse has the German eagle, the words “BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND”, the value and denomination, the letter “J” for the Hamburg Mint, the year 2022, and the twelve stars of Europe.
