With this release, Monnaie de Paris pays tribute to the most famous Gaul - Asterix!

The inseparable trio of the comic book appears on the obverse of the coin. Asterix, the main character from the Gallic Village in Armorica, is supported by his sensitive, brave best friend, Obelix. Dogmatix (Idefix), the ecologist dog, proudly backs up the adventures of our favourite characters.

The characters are colorized with pad painting made by the artisans of la Monnaie de Paris, with the original colors of the comic book.

The comic’s emblematic trio is on the reverse of the coin. Here, Asterix and Obelix each lift one of the numbers of the denomenation of the coin, showcasing the characters’ overflowing energy. Dogmatix (Idefix), the loyal companion of our favourite characters, assists the two best friends.
