The Beloved Classic Novel “The Little Prince” Turns 75 Years Old in 2021. Although it was released in the US in 1943, France had to wait until 1946 to have the novella published, because of World War II.

Written in wartime New York City, the children’s book brings out the small explorer in everyone. The Little Prince is philosophical tale, with humanist values, shared from one generation to another for more than 75 years. Creating bonds between generations, men and continents, The Little Prince is a sustainable development icon, a World Peace actor, and a childhood Rights ambassador.

The three 10€ silver coins are colored and form a triptych. The obverses represent in turn The Little Prince sitting on the moon his scarf flying in the wind, running alongside the fox, or sitting thinking on a book.

The reverses have the logo of the 75th anniversary of the book's French publication surrounded by the inscription "The Little Prince" translated into French, English, German and Japanese, illustrating the international success of the book.
