In Chinese astrology, the sign of the buffalo is characterized by endurance, seriousness and reliability. It is a being who is capable of reaching his goals without changing course or determination.

Surrounded by a circle with traditional Chinese motifs, a Buffalo appears in the center of the obverse. Only the front part of the animal is revealed as if it were coming out of a door, gently pointing the tip of its muzzle outward. The ideogram of the Buffalo appears on the right side of the animal. The year and the inscription "Year of the Buffalo" appear at the bottom, in the outer circle.
