The Souvenir coin set contains the only coin denomination that has been minted for 2020, namely the 20-krone. The 2020 20-krone celebrates the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Norwegian children's author Anne-Cath. Vestly.

This is the first time a woman is honored for her achievements with a Norwegian commemorative coin.

Anne-Cath. Vestly (1920-2008) is regarded as one of Norway’s most important children’s book authors. Her books described what it was like for boys and girls to grow up in post-war Norway. The author was also well-known for her radio and television work. Her voice became particularly familiar through the Norwegian children’s radio programme “Barnetimen for de minste”. Her books are still being reprinted in new editions and a number of her stories have been adapted for film.

Please note that this is the first year that the crossed hammer and chisel of the Mint of Norway has been replaced with the initials of Norges Bank (Central Bank of Norway), NB.

Also included is a mint medal honoring the 75th Anniversary of Independence.
