This is the eighth and final release in the Presidents of Finland series, and pays tribute to U.K. Kekkonen, Finland's eighth president holding office between 1956-1981.

Urho Kaleva Kekkonen (1900–1986) was a Finnish politician who served as Prime Minister of Finland and later as the eighth and longest-serving President of Finland. Finland's President for more than 25 years, Kekkonen helped lead Finland's slow emergence from the long shadow of two military defeats by the Soviet Union to self-assured participation in international affairs.

The obverse bears the portrait of Urho Kekkonen. The reverse - common to the entire eight-coin series - features a landscape of Finnish fields, framing an open book depicting a constructed urban environment.

A total of eight collector coins have been released in the series, with coins of K.J. Ståhlberg, L.K. Relander, P.E. Svinhufvud and Kyösti Kallio launched in 2016 and the coins for Risto Ryti, C.G.E. Mannerheim, J.K. Paasikivi and U.K. Kekkonen released in 2017.
