This is the first issue in a new bi-metallic series featuring buildings from all nine historical provinces of Finland, namely Åland, Tavastia, Karelia, Lapland, Ostrobothnia, Satakunta, Savo, Uusimaa and Finland Proper.

On the obverse there is an image of Helsinki Cathedral and Uspenski Cathedral, which form an enduring part of the Helsinki skyline. The reverse features the historical province´s coat of arms and the face value, 5 EURO.
