This issue celebrates the eight centuries that have passed since the Portuguese-born Pedro Julio - also called Pedro Hispano - was elected by the cardinals and served as Pope John XXI. Unfortunately, he only served for approximately eight months as the poorly-built roof on his house fell in and he eventually died from his injuries. Pope John XXI is buried in Viterbo Cathedral north of Rome.
