This issue commemorates the 50th anniversary of Grand Duke Henri and the 5th anniversary of his accession to the throne. This coin also marks the 100th anniversary of Grand Duke Adolphe (1817-1905).

The reverse of the coin features the portrait of Grand Duke Henri, behind which is a portrait of Grand Duke Adolphe. Above is an inscription that reads, "Grands-Ducs De Luxembourg." Beneath each portrait is an inscription noting the Grand Duke's name. Beneath Grand Duke Henri's portrait is his birth date, while beneath Grand Duke Adolphe's portrait is the date of his death.
