The Souvenir set was first issued in 1998 and highlights a different area of Norway each year. This year it is Haugesund and Haugalandet, the city that is celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2004 and the birthplace of the Kingdom of Norway. The coins are housed in blister packaging in an illustrated protective booklet with interesting facts and pictures from the area. This year the packaging also celebrates the 150th anniversary of Norway's railways with a special commemorative circulating coin.
