The third issue in the Australia Remembers series recognizes those who made
history beyond the battlefields. In 2011 it celebrates Australian war
correspondents that have shaped our perception of conflicts since
the Boer War.
The reverse design is based on an image from the Australian War Memorial of an
Australian official photographer, standing with tripod and camera on
a British Mark V tank, the advance of Australian troops through the
Hindenburg Line is recorded. The obverse has the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.
The coin is presented in the same card format as the Australian
Service Nurses and Lost Soldiers of Fromelles coins. There is a
brief description of the work done by these brave Australians and
the contribution they made to Australian war history on the card. |
