The dollar (SRD) has been the currency of Suriname since 2004, taking over from the guilder. It is divided into 100 cents. This set contains all six denominations minted in 2010 - 1, 5 (square), 10, 25, 100 and 250 cents - delivered in a colorful folder with the topic Surinamese industry.

The Republic of Suriname - formerly known as Dutch Gyuana - is the smallest independent country on the South American continent. Located in northern South America - it borders Brazil to the South, the Atlantic Ocean to the North, French Guyana to the East and Guyana to the West - its population is only 450,000 people. Suriname became independent of the Netherlands in 1975.
