Issued on August 12, this coin honors the 90th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw in the Polish-Russian War.
The reverse features a stylized images of a border post, with the Polish state emblem
as it appeared during the Polish-Soviet War, and a soldier on horseback holding a lance with a pennant, and the legend EUROPA (Europe) as well as a fragmented image
of a hammer and a sickle. Also featured are the inscriptions "BITWA WARSZAWSKA 1920" (Battle of Warsaw 1920) and "90. ROCZNICA" (90th Anniversary).
The Battle of Warsaw was fought in August 1920 during the Polish-Soviet war. It is considered one of the decisive battles in the history of the world as it prevented the loss of independence by Poland and the spreading of the Communist revolution to Western Europe.
