Issued on April 28, this coin participates in the pan-European eurostar coin program and celebrates the 25th anniversary of Gaisce, The President's Award.

The Award scheme is Ireland's National Challenge Award to young people between 15 and 25 years of age and focuses on helping them to fulfill their true potential by undertaking a series of challenges both personally and within the community.

The Designer of the coin, Michael Guilfoyle, has depicted Áras an Uachtaráin, the official residence of the President of Ireland, patron of Gaisce along with some of the diverse range of challenges that participants in the Award undertake.
