This issue marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Finnish-American designer and architect, Eero Saarinen.

Eero Saarinen (August 20, 1910 – September 1, 1961) was a Finnish-American architect and product designer of the 20th century, famous for both simple, sweeping, arching structural curves and machine-like rationalism. Saarinen emigrated to the United States of America in 1923 at the age of thirteen, and provided designs for the Situation Room in the White House and the Gateway Arch in St. Louis.

The reverse side depicts the Gateway Arch, a famous American landmark in St. Louis. The obverse side depicts the Tulip chair, one of his most remembered design objects.
