This issue marks the 125th anniversary of the publication of "Työmiehen vaimo" (The Worker’s Wife), one of Minna Canth’s main works.

Minna Canth (1844-97) was a Finnish author, playwright and journalist, and an energetic and influential fighter for women's rights and social justice. Equality was her central idea, and she usually expressed it from the point of view of women and the underprivileged. Canth is regarded as the pioneer of realism in Finnish literature, and is the first woman to be honored with a flag day in Finland - March 19, her birthday, is officially named “Minna Canth’s Day, The Day of Equality”

The reverse shows the half-face of a woman with the eye colored blue, and handwriting, symbolizing her literary works, going across the image. The obverse depicts a needle with a length of thread forming a symbol of equality.
