To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns, the Royal Mint has struck a commemorative Brilliant Uncirculated £2 coin. Designed by The Royal Mint Engraving Team, the reverse of the coin features an extract taken from the original manuscript of Auld Lang Syne, penned in Burns’ own hand while the outer ring contains the text 1759 ROBERT BURNS 1796 and the denomination TWO POUNDS. The £2 coin is housed in an attractive presentation folder which gives information on the Scottish bard’s life and works, accompanied by beautiful images relating to the information provided.
