This issue celebrates the 150th anniversary of the birth of one of Norway's most important authors, Knut Hamsun.

The elements used for the reverse design are his signature, the year dates of his birth and anniversary, as well as a depiction of the original handwriting for one of his most essential works, "Growth of the Soil" (1917), which contributed to him being awarded the Nobel Prize in 1920. Contours of his face in profile are intertwined with the handwriting and give the coin a vivid expression symbolizing the creative process in his writing.
