This low-mintage set contains the six circulating coins from Lithuania, namely the 10 Centu, 20 Centu, 50 Centu, 1 Litas, 2 Litai, and 5 Litai pieces.
In addition, the set also features the three lowest denominations - 1 Centas, 2 Centai and 5 Centai - minted in 1991, right after the Republic of Lithuania became independent.
These coins became legal tender in 1993 (even though they are dated 1991) and were minted in aluminium by the British Royal Mint.
All Lithuanian coins feature the obverse designs showing the Coat of Arms in the center and the name of the state "Lietuva" in capital letters.
Currently, all coins are minted in the state-owned enterprise "Lithuanian Mint," which started its operations in September 1992 and helped to cut the costs of introducing the litas.
The coins come delivered in an illustrated folder with all the coins displayed alongside information about Lithuania and it's currency.
