This annual issue from the Mint of Finland includes the eight 2006-dated Finnish euro circulation coins and the 2 euro "Parliamentary Reform - Universal and equal Suffrage 100 Years".

Universal and equal suffrage was established in Finland a century ago, coinciding with the parliament reform of 1906. At the time, all Finnish citizens got the right to vote in elections, regardless of sex, means or ethnic background. Even from a global perspective this was a radical reform that laid a solid foundation for Finnish democracy and equality. Up to that time suffrage had been a privilege of a minority: only males belonging to the four estates of the realm were allowed to participate in political decision-making. Together, they made up only 8% of the population.
