This issue commemorates the 200th anniversary of the death of the Finnish luminary Anders Chydenius (1729-1803).

Chydenius, a clergyman, physician and politician, was a member of the Diet during the reign of King Gustavus III, This "Adam Smith of the Nordic Countries" strongly defended the freedom of trade after the Swedish rule of Finland ended. The currency reform of Sweden-Finland in 1755 adopted his ideas.
